The theme for Friday, 6 October, will be the history of Physics, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the discovery of x rays and radioactivity.
Invited Speakers include Erwin N. Hiebert of the Department of The History of Science at Harvard University, and Susan Quinn, author of a recent biography of Marie Curie. On Saturday morning we will have talks on the physics of magnetic recording technologies. There also will be poster sessions and oral contributed papers. Presenters should specify either a talk or a poster.
The deadline for receipt of abstracts is 22 September 1995. Please send abstracts to the address below. If you wish the abstracts to be published in the APS Bulletin, enclose $35 for each abstract, made out to Bowdoin College APS/NES.
