Excited states in ^125La have been studied using the ^64Zn(^64Zn,3p) reaction at 260 MeV and the GAMMASPHERE/MICROBALL/FMA facility at ANL. Coincidence cubes and a hypercube gated by 3p were sorted and analyzed. An asymmetric DCO matrix sorted for \gamma-ray multipolarity assignments is under investigation. The data contain information about lighter odd and odd-odd La isotopes which are under analysis. With respect to the previous study of ^125La [1], two new decoupled structures and one strongly coupled band involving the (\pig_9/2)^-1 orbital were found and linked to known excited states. The assignment of the (\pig_9/2)^-1 band to ^125La was confirmed by the combined FMA/MICROBALL analysis. The previously observed bands [1] were confirmed and extended up to high spin with one of these reaching \sim83/2^+. In a number of gates set on ^125La \gamma-rays, an E2 bump was observed between 1.0 and 1.8~MeV suggesting a high density of collective states at large rotational frequency. Configuration assignments and systematics for the region will be discussed. [0.01 cm] [1] K.~Starosta~et al., ~Phys.~Rev.~C53,~(1996)~137.
