Session MC - Micro-Fluid Dynamics IX.
MIXED session, Tuesday afternoon, November 23
Grand III, Westin Seattle
Shear induced flows in microphase separated block copolymers offer an example of multiphase flow involving small scale flows at the scale of the microphase (a few nanometers), coupled to large scale flows spanning macroscopic size domains that exhibit long range order. We introduce a coarse-grained mesoscopic description of the polymer including viscoelastic contrast between the microphases in order to focus on orientation selection under oscillatory shears, and the motion of grain boundaries separating domains with different macroscopic orientation.
