[D14.009] Higher dimensional generalization of Fractional statistics

The concept of fractional statistics is one of the most fundamental concepts in physics. Quasi-particles in the Laughlin liquid provides a physical realization of fractional statistics in two dimensions. Here we show that 4D quantum Hall liquid state recently constructed by Zhang and Hu contain membrane solitions which generalize the concept of fractional statistics to higher dimensions.
