[GP1.039] Plasma diagnostic circuits

Joseph Allen, Christopher Watts (New Mexico Tech)

Several simple circuits have been developed in-house for the \alphalpha device to make diagnostic measurements. We present the design of a sawtooth-swept Langmuir probe circuit, and a triangle wave floating double probe circuit. Both cost a few dollars to build, neglecting the cost of the power supplies. We also present a fast sawtooth sweep circuit – 1 MHz with a sweep-back time of less than 50 ns – used to drive a microwave interferometer.
