Session Q11 - HTSC: PHOTOEMISSION
Mixed session, Friday morning, March 24, 8:00
Room B3, San Jose Convention Center
The quasiparticle spectra (QPS) obtained from angle resolved photoemission measurements of different cuprates (including the recently discovered insulating Sr_2CuO_2Cl_2 ) are analized on the basis of the t-t'-J model using the self-consistent Born approximation. This technique is shown to work surprisingly well compared against Green`s Function Monte-Carlo calculations. A detailed comparison between the experimental data and theoretical results is performed for different families of cuprates. Very good agreement is found. In particular, the QPS bandwidths, and the formation of a flat band around (\pi, 0) are reproduced by the t-J model. Comparisons of the Sr_2CuO_2Cl_2 ARPES data to three band calculations will also be addressed. The possible role in high-temperature superconductivity of several features of the QPS are discussed. Theoretical predictions for physical properties are made.
