[Q10.07] Josephson Current-Phase Relationships with Unconventional Superconductors

Sungkit Yip (Department of Physics and Astronomy, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL 60208.)

The current/energy-phase relationships for Josephson coupling involving unconventional superconductors are investigated. It is shown that in general the energy can have minima at phase differences neither 0 nor \pi even for superconductors which do not break time-reversal symmetry. Possible experimental manifestations of these special current-phase relationships will be discussed.
