Surface flute modes (SFM) propagating along the azimuth in cylindrical plasma waveguides are intensively studied due to their possible utilization in the devices of plasma and semiconductor electronics [1]. Axially inhomogeneous external magnetic field, B_oz=B_o(1+\varepsilon (r) cos(n\vartheta)),\varepsilon (r)\ll 1, can be used for delaying the SFM. The case n=1 corresponds to the magnetic field inhomogeneity taking place in toroidal waveguides. Maxwell equations are solved using the perturbation theory and cold collisionless plasma model taking into account the small values of the second order. Explicit expression for the frequency correction \Delta ømega \sim \varepsilon^2 ømega_o, caused by weak inhomogeneity of B_oz is found, here ømega_o is SFM eigen frequency in homogeneous magnetic field (\varepsilon=0). Dependence of \Deltaømega upon the waveguide parameters is studied. [1] Girka I.A., Girka V.A., Olefir V.P., Tkachenko V.I.// Soviet Technical Physics Letters. 17. 1991. P. 35.
